August Wrap Up

This month was cray-cray to say the least.

Soooo many things happened. I’m actually a bit shocked it all happened in the span of one month.

If you’re curious, do continue reading!

OK, so it looks like I didn’t read jack-squat this month, but for the first half of the month I was perusing the Canon EOS Rebel T7i/800D For Dummies (the camera that I bought for myself – I’ve been saving up for it since Christmas and finally reached the amount I needed!) so that took up a lot of my recreational reading time.

It was my birthday month soooo…. yeah. I’m not normally rolling in the dough to be able to buy this many books in one month.

Same as in July, I didn’t do too much blog hopping this month. I’ve still been feeling very book and blog slump-y. But, at long last, I’m beginning to overcome it and I’m seeing the LIGHT (hallelujah!) and did some blog browsing towards the tail end of August.

In particular I found:

  • wowFETCH – If you follow Closet Readers then you will see that B/Cady has her own blog now and will begin posting there very soon!
    mg4
  • A Whisper of Ink – For some reason I’ve been following Ilsa’s Twitter for awhile now, but not her blog??? I… just don’t even know?? But I’ve fixed this! Anyway, Ilsa posts some very interesting discussions (like this one about genres!) and of course her blog design is absolutely adorable and I love it so much. ❤
  • Snazzy Books – I came across Laura’s blog when she was featured on one of my all time favorite blogger’s Meet the Blogger series. Laura is a big fan of crime and thriller novels so if you’re into those too then you should definitely check out her blog!
  • Books & Cleverness – I happened to see Emily comment on a blogger’s post and thought her comment was well thought out and her icon to be very cute so I checked out her blog and FELL IN LOVE. Her logo is freaking adorable (font choice and cat illustration!), her theme is incredibly clean and organized and SO professional, and her reading tastes are all similar to mine! Safe to say, I am now obsessed! Please do yourself a BIG FAVOR and go check out her blog right now!

25th Birthday!

I obviously can’t fail to mention that my boyfriend and I both turned 25 this month (our birthdays are 2 days apart – aren’t we cute?)! Gosh, that is… scary close to 30. But we had a great time. We went book shop browsing and also perused the Museum of Fine Arts to check out the Ron Mueck exhibit, which was INCREDIBLE.

My First DSLR Camera

I’m also not going to forget to mention that I finally purchased a really awesome DSLR camera for beginners!! Essentially I’m now able to take bomb ass selfies with my cats like this one here…

Also, my least favorite thing this month was the fact that Hurricane Harvey came and screwed up my whole week. Thankfully our house did not flood and all my friends and family stayed safe, but many people’s lives and homes were affected. If you can, please consider donating to Houston and all the other cities that were affected.

  2. I can’t wait to read One Of Us Is Lying!!! I read The Glass Castle years ago, looking forward to see how you liked it. WONDER was one of the BEST books I’ve read in a long time. I have Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom just need to find a time to squeeze them in.;-) I love the part you feature blogs you recently found – amazing way of sharing fellow blogs.
