May Wrap Up

OK, let me just start this off by saying May was pretty sweet.

I went to a convention, a concert, and the beach. The manfriend and I celebrated our four year anniversary. Overall, I had a good time.

Let’s take a look back!

Okay so this was not a good reading month for me at all.

I finished Windwitch, but I didn’t read it all in back to back sittings like I had with Truthwitch. I felt pretty scatter brained this month and kept switching back and forth between A Brief History of Ireland so it could help me relax and sleep haha. And I haven’t even finished the history book, but wanted to include it in attempts to give you a visual excuse for why it took me a month to finish a relatively short fantasy novel. I am the literal worst. Emoji Pngs (9)

And guys this had nothing to do with the quality of the novel because it is fairly quick paced and has lots of interesting twists and turns. I just did not have the attention span to sit and read. Frankly, I’m going to have to re-read it to give it the justice it deserves.

I then read Dark Places as quick as I could to make up for lost time. It was a great mystery, by the way! Still debating whether or not I should write a review or not…

As you can see, WordPress is doing terrible things to my TBR… (too many books, not enough time)

And yes I already have a copy of Emma, but I didn’t have *this* copy and it’s just so cute. Plus, I simply couldn’t pass it up when the price dropped a bit on Amazon.

I had such an awesome month for blogging! I’ve actually had some good conversations with other bloggers. Putting yourself out there when commenting on someone’s blog can be nerve-wracking, but it is also rewarding.

Also, I’ve read a lot of blogging tips and advice posts so I completely re-designed my blog for the millionth time, but I am so in love with it now! (Cats!) I also learned that discussion posts tend to encourage people to start conversations with me so I’ve tried to come up with some good topics this month and I think I succeeded at that.

And that leads me into…

The Heritage Society:

So, this place is cool as heck. Ryan and I went to tour some of Houston’s oldest buildings that were all moved to this one spot in downtown and there was a FREE museum (free?! in Houston?! Say whaaaa?) that showed a timeline of significant events in Houston and it was all around really interesting.

Comicpalooza:

This is Houston’s big comic convention and Ryan and I have been going every year for the past 5 years now. Peggy Carter was my first (and so far my only) cosplay that I debuted here. I’ve had lots of great memories here and it’s an event I look forward to each year (along with TRF but that will have to be a future post Emoji Pngs (4)).

This print of Daenerys is now adorning my bookshelf thanks to Gabby Ramirez.

And look at this adorable cosplay of Newt Scamander I just! Emoji Pngs (10)

Celtic Woman:

I went to see these lovely ladies again (the first time was an entirely different ensemble of women), and it was so, so, so amazing. I waited in line to get one of the tour t-shirts and I just never want to stop wearing it because Irish ladies ❤

Four Year Anniversary:

Aaaand Ryan and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary this year. We went to Comicpalooza together for the first time 5 years ago and later that evening he asked me out (it was cute, guys). So overall, Ryan is my favorite person this month. Emoji Pngs (7)

Pirate’s Beach:

Finally went to the beach and got to rock the Torrid bathing suit I mentioned in last month’s wrap up and boy did I look cute af! Emoji Pngs (8)

Like, straight up I’ve never done this many things in one month. This was insane, but also a lot of fun. Looking back I can see why reading took a back burner so I’m not quite as disappointed as I was when I first started writing this post lol

What were some of your highlights for May?

Are you a Comic Con junkie or a Celtic Woman fan like myself?
