So this week’s prompt are the books I am friggin pumped for to come out for the remainder of the year.

In chronological order-ish of release dates, let’s take a peek at what I’m looking forward to…

32682118“On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.
Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention, Simon’s dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident.”

It comes out today, but still including it because I AM ANTICIPATING!

“Painstakingly restored from Tolkien’s manuscripts and presented for the first time as a fully continuous and standalone story, the epic tale of Beren and Lúthien will reunite fans of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings with Elves and Men, Dwarves and Orcs and the rich landscape and creatures unique to Tolkien’s Middle-earth.”

Can I just say HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLYSHIT?!!!

Expected publication: June 1st 2017

“What sixteen-year-old Elizabeth has lost so far: forty pounds, four jean sizes, a boyfriend, and her peace of mind. As a result, she’s finally a size zero. She’s also the newest resident at Wallingfield, a treatment center for girls like her—girls with eating disorders.”

That cover really grabbed my attention. Praise be to a good cover design! Emoji Pngs (11) This book sounds gripping. Looking forward to getting my hands on it.

Expected publication: June 6th 2017

“In the early summer of 2014, Farida Khalaf was a typical Yazidi teenager living with her parents and three brothers in her village in the mountains of Northern Iraq. In one horrific day, she lost everything: ISIS invaded her village, destroyed her family, and sold her into sexual slavery.”

All I can say is wow. I really want to hear this girl’s story.

Expected publication: July 4th 2017

32710790“Cherry has a hidden talent. She can see things other people can’t and she decided a long time ago to use this skill to help others. As far as the rest of the town is concerned she’s simply the kind-hearted young woman who runs the local bakery, but in private she uses her gift to add something special to her cakes so that after just one mouthful the townspeople start to feel better about their lives.”

I love Carrie’s YouTube channel, but I’ve never read one of her books. This one sounds really sweet.

Expected publication: July 13th 2017

“Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mere mortal. Even worse, Alia Keralis is no ordinary girl and with this single brave act, Diana may have doomed the world.”

I’ve never read one of Leigh Bardugo’s books, but I’ve heard great things (I will read Six of Crows I promise just please don’t hurt me). I also love Wonder Woman so I’m definitely interested in this.

Expected publication: August 29th 2017

32051720“All the women in Iris and Malina’s family have the unique magical ability or “gleam” to manipulate beauty. Iris sees flowers as fractals and turns her kaleidoscope visions into glasswork, while Malina interprets moods as music. But their mother has strict rules to keep their gifts a secret, even in their secluded sea-side town. Iris and Malina are not allowed to share their magic with anyone, and above all, they are forbidden from falling in love.”

I’ve already talked about this, but this sounds like a good fantasy. The magical abilities are certainly different than what I normally read.

Expected publication: August 15th 2017

32508637“On the morning of August 4, 1892, Lizzie Borden calls out to her maid: Someone’s killed Father. The brutal ax-murder of Andrew and Abby Borden in their home in Fall River, Massachusetts, leaves little evidence and many unanswered questions. While neighbors struggle to understand why anyone would want to harm the respected Bordens, those close to the family have a different tale to tell—of a father with an explosive temper; a spiteful stepmother; and two spinster sisters, with a bond even stronger than blood, desperate for their independence.”

Lizzie Borden meets historical fiction can I get a hell YEA?!

Expected publication: August 1st 2017

29923707

“With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out. And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent.”

Of course I can’t have a list like this without the sequel to Three Dark Crowns. I CANNOT wait to get my hands on this.

Expected publication: September 19th 2017

25528808

“Set in a near-future world where the British Empire never fell and the United States never rose, That Inevitable Victorian Thing is a novel of love, duty, and the small moments that can change people and the world.”

SAY WHAAAAAT?! Sounds interesting af.

Expected publication: October 3rd 2017
